 ENERGY CONSUME TOO HIGH?

 BAD AIR QUALITY?

 HIGH CO2 EMISSIONS?

 LEAK TIGHTNESS CLASS NOT REALISED?

AEROSEAL® – the benchmark for airtight air ducting systems.

The most efficient and sustainable solution for sealing leaks in air ducting systems, which are often responsible for increased energy consumption and CO2 emissions, as well as poor air quality or failure to achieve the tightness class.

AEROSEAL® guarantees at least tightness class ATC 2, increases energy efficiency, hygiene and comfort, and is the basis for 30-50% lower energy costs.

Mit AEROSEAL® konnten die Leckagen um 95% reduziert werden.

“I was more than skeptical. It sounded like one of those miracle products that slices and dices. The difference is that this actually worked perfectly. All the shafts were quickly sealed to levels well within the code requirements. Since it is a pressurized delivery system, it will find and seal all the leaks.

It was a real project saver and I would definitely use AEROSEAL® again.”

THE TECHNOLOGY.

AEROSEAL® is the only technology for efficiently and effectively sealing installed air duct systems from the inside out. Our process guarantees a high tightness class, increases energy efficiency and hygiene, and saves 30-50% of energy consumption.

"The basis for sustainable, economical and hygienically safe operation of a ventilation system is maximum TIGHTNESS of the air ducts and components."
Jörg Mez, Managing Director of MEZ-TECHNIK

In 1996, Prof. Marc Modera developed AEROSEAL technology at the renowned Berkeley Labs (USA) to solve one of the biggest problems in building technology: leaky air ducts. His groundbreaking invention makes it possible to seal leaks from the inside out quickly, efficiently and permanently – without costly dismantling or structural intervention.

ÜBER 2000 ERFOLGREICHE PROJEKTE.

OVER 2000 SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS.

In 2015, AEROSEAL was licensed for Europe by MEZ-TECHNIK and has since established itself as the leading solution for sealing ventilation systems. Today, 56 independent licensees are active in Europe and have already successfully implemented over 1,200 projects in new and existing buildings.

Whether it's failed leak tests, problems with air distribution and quality, or hygiene requirements such as exfiltration/infiltration in hospitals or clean rooms – AEROSEAL® provides the solution. The process also solves problems with noise and odours as well as hygiene requirements according to VDI 6022 (airtightness class C or D). However, production, transport and storage also put strain on the materials and make air duct systems almost impossible to seal. We guarantee high airtightness classes!

EINFACH ERKLÄRT.

SIMPLY EXPLAINED.

AEROSEAL® technology is unique in that it only seals the areas that are leaking. The environmentally friendly, water-based aerosol complies with VDI 6022 hygiene guidelines and seals gaps up to 15 mm without coating the rest of the system with sealant. It can be used during "normal" everyday operations.

DAS PROBLEM.

THE PROBLEM WITH LEAKS.

Why are air ducts not tight?

The causes are varied and arise in different phases of the planning and construction process.

  • Tendering
  • Production and material
  • Transport & handling
  • Inaccuracies during installation
  • Maintenance & operation
  • Ageing processes during operation of the system
AUSWIRKUNG.

THE IMPACT.

Leaking air ducts have economic and ecological consequences.

  • Leaks increase power consumption and operating costs due to higher fan performance.
  • Due to deliberate leaks, ventilation systems often have to be designed 15-20% larger, which increases material and construction costs.
  • Air duct tightness standards or hygiene requirements are often not met. This leads to delays in commissioning and official inspections.
  • A lower air flow rate due to leaks impairs the indoor climate, air quality and thermal comfort in buildings.
WAS KOSTEN LECKAGEN?

WHAT DOES LEAKS COST?

High energy costs, stricter legal requirements (EBPD, GEG) and growing awareness of sustainable construction are increasing the pressure on building operators and planners.

The energy requirement in airtightness class ATC 5 (A) is 46% higher than in ATC 3 (C).

Tight air ducts are crucial and form the basis for achieving energy savings, keeping operating costs economical and protecting the environment. This results in energy savings potential of up to 50%.

BIRKENSTOCK NEUBAU
36.000 qm.

In 2023, Birkenstock built a new factory in Pasewalk, Germany, at a total cost of €120 million. The buildings were equipped with several ventilation and air conditioning systems in airtightness class B (ATC 4). AEROSEAL® was included in the planning phase in order to achieve class C (ATC 3).

After completion of the project, airtightness class D (ATC 2) was even achieved throughout.
